  • Mijas Costa is a tourist town at the foot of the hills of the same name, possesses typically Andalusian houses. Its traditional status as a mountain village has been combined harmoniously with a major tourist complex located in the coastal enclave of La Cala, where there are 12 kilometres of beaches...
  • Fuengirola sits on a thin strip of coastline 8 kilometres long which has some of the best beaches of the Costa del Sol: Los Boliches, Fuengirola, La Campana, Torreblanca, Las Gaviotas...well tended beaches surrounded by a large and busy promenade where residential complexes, hotels, restaurants and other services which enable you to enjoy the sun and the sea in comfort...

  • Estepona has a priveleged location between the scenery of the Nature Park of Sierra Bemeja and 21 kilometres of coast. This makes Estepona an important holiday destination. It also has, outside of the location itself, a range of special leisure attractions such as the nature reserve of Selwo, the equestrian school of "Costa del Sol", the congress centre and the leisure harbour...
  • Manilva is surrounded by a sea of vineyards. It is 2 kilometres from the sea. Among its monuments, special mention should be made of Duquesa Castle, built to protect the coast from raids by pirates, and the 18th century Santa Ana Church...

Beyond Manilva you find the town of la Línea de la Concepción, Gibraltar (UK) and the port of Algeciras, which belong to the province of Cádiz. Although the are still on the Mediterranean coast, they officially do not belong to the Costa del SOL anymore.

Finally, at Tarifa, on the southern-most point of Spain and the southermost city of continental Europe, the Mediterranean sea merges into the Atlantic ocean and Costa del SOL converts to Costa de la Luz (the Coast of Light aka "the forgotten coast") which has a completely different character. The beaches and towns are still more in their original state and since it is not as exploited and massified, and you can still find many quiet and almost untouched beaches and bays.

To the east of Malaga City you find the towns of Rincón de la Victoria and Nerja.

Nerja can be found in the easternmost part of Axarquía, 50 kilometres from Malaga City and on the border of the province of Granada. Nerja, with a large choice of hotels, rooms, tourist villas etc. Offers a marvellous stay to visitors and an unequalled location for taking a holiday surrounded by mountains and beaches....

Beyond Nerja you reach the province of Granada and the Costa del SOL turns into the Costa Tropical (Tropical Coast).
