Los Caños de Meca

Location in Spain:

Category:

Los Caños de Meca is a truly cute and absurd tiny town with just one dead end street, that finishes right on the border of the small nature reserve of Acantilado y Pinar de Barbate.

The town happens to be located on one of the last few unspoiled and most beautiful beaches of Europe at the Costa de la Luz.

Unfortunately international real-estate speculation and government corruption have already started to infect this beautiful place, just like the neighboring towns of el Palmar, Bolonia and Zahara de los Atunes. If nobody stops it, it all will end up as ruined as the Costa del SOL, which might have been just as beautiful a very long time ago.

But still, if you are lucky enough to get to know this beach outside of massive tourism season (august, july, weekends) you will feel no more need to go to any carribean island.

Save "el Palmar" beach!!!
Vote against yet another speculation and construction project of the Junta de Andalucia in el Palmar, Costa de la Luz

AGAIN as many times before the Junta de Andalucia (regional government) allows speculations and major constructions on the ever diminishing number of unspoiled beaches in Spain. If you happen to know the beach of Palmar, you know how natural and free of constructions this beautiful beach is.

There is a special page where you can tell the government that already enough destroying of natural resources for economic benefit has been done: http://www.salvarelpalmar.es/  - Part of the Clean Ocean Project
